An essay about love.

The final preparations – at the beginning there is always an idea – a thought. The first acts are formed from these thoughts and once the stone has started rolling, it is difficult to stop it again. Vergeßt mir die Liebe nicht! is a story I have worked on for more than two years. This mainly because it is the most personal photographic work of mine to date. Yet the photography did not come first, it was the story behind the story that served as inspiration and ultimately created this essay about love … photography came later!

Two years later, Vergeßt mir die Liebe nicht! is in the final stages of completion. The exhibition catalog is currently in print at DruckConcept Kirchner & Rothe in Berlin, for which I am (as always) on site to print each individual site. The exhibition exhibits are also produced and framed via BLACK BOX GALLERY®. On the spot in the Gotischer Kasten in Eggenfelden, already waiting for me, together with my team, to bring each photograph to its exact location in order to bring the narrative of an ongoing story of love to the end / beginning.

Prologue (The Perfect Storm).

I’ve met someone. It was a coincidence, I did not look for it, I was not on the prowl. It was the perfect storm, a random chain of circumstances that led to this one moment. One word gave the other and suddenly, in the middle of conversation, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Now I have that feeling that she could be the woman of my life – that’s the good news!

The bad news – I do not know how I can be with her. It scares me terribly, because if I can not be with her now, I feel like we’re losing out there. It’s a big world full of unpredictable turns, people often have a veiled look on things and miss the crucial moment – the moment that could have changed everything. Yesterday, my life still led in one direction, today it leads to another and I feel that something significant has happened.

How is that possible? I have just met her, and yet I know: she is the love of my life!
